Does Housecall Pro respond to website leads automatically?

Not to the lead directly. Housecall Pro's own Lead Form documentation states that submitting the form creates a Lead in the account and sends a text notification to the business, not a reply to the customer who submitted it. Getting back to that lead is still up to the business.

Housecall Pro does offer CSR AI, a paid add-on that can answer calls and book jobs, but it's built around inbound phone calls to the business line, not around replying to a web form submission. A lead who fills out the Lead Form and never calls the number isn't reached by CSR AI on that basis alone.

So the practical answer for a website lead specifically is: the business finds out immediately via text, but the lead themselves gets no automatic acknowledgment from the platform unless the business (or a separate follow-up tool) sends one.
